So I have read some fantastic books recently and wanted to share them as well as do some fall cleaning and thus... GIVEAWAY! :-)
1. Vicarious by Paula Stokes. What a twisty, suspenseful YA sci fi novel. You've got to pick it up! See my blog tour post for more details.
2. The Winner's Curse Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski. Can't get enough of Kestrel and Arin. Kestrel in particular is one of the most fantastic heroines I've seen in a long time.
3. The Beauty of Darkness Trilogy by Mary Pearson. Just finished this one and am going to have another post dedicated to it. Another wonderful fantasy with a strong heroine.
4. The Young Elites trilogy (notably The Midnight Star, the final book) by Marie Lu. Mind blown. If you haven't started it yet, it's a perfect time to start. Watch for my blog tour post coming tomorrow.
5. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake. Dark and lush writing, she's baaaack! See my post on this great book.
6. Scythe by Neal Schusterman. The master of ethics and twists in a dystopian world. I'll have a review up on the blog soon. Fantastic and moving.

The best book I've read in the past year is most likely The Way Back To You. I love, LOVE that book! I can't stop thinking about it. Even now I can't and it's been months since I read it.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites this year have been "The Merciless" series by Danielle Vega, "Survive The Night" by Danielle Vega, "The Cotton Candy Quintet" series by Erin Hayes, "Wake The Hollow" by Gaby Triana, "How To Hang A Witch" by Adriana Mather, "Behind Closed Doors" by B.A. Paris, and "The Cabin" by Natasha Preston. Love stories that keep me on the edge of my seat and quickly turning the pages late into the night.
ReplyDeleteThe ShackJun by William P. Young. It changed the way I see things. If you haven't read it, you should.
ReplyDeleteI've read a few but I'll have to go with a recent favorite, The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis. Dark but a really great story.
ReplyDeleteI finally read Outlander this year, and it's probably my favorite. I normally don't like time travel (it's too hard to believe, and usually just stupid), but Outlander did it so right. Other mentions: My Lady Jane (unique and funny), Winter by Marissa Meyer (great ending to the Lunar Chronicles), and Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin (brilliant and unique). Thanks! :)
ReplyDeletePS: I'm hitting the "helpful" button on your reviews, but when I refresh it still gives me the option. I'll try to keep checking back. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I haven't read any of those books but 3 Dark Crowns and I loved the writing soooo much.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is such a hard pick since there's so many different genres I read. But here's a few:
Outrun the Moon by Stacey Lee
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri M-Can't remember last name
The Melody of You & Me by M. Hollis
The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan
Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley
My recent 5 star read is Stung. :)
ReplyDeleteMy recent favorite read is Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. IT's about parallel universes. Other notable reads this year are GIRL LAST SEEN, THE MEMORY BOOK, AUTOFOCUS.
ReplyDeletePS. I may appear non-US on the rafflecopter but I have a US addy. Thanks for the chance!!!
Huh, I swear I commented yesterday but it's not here...
ReplyDeleteAnyways, my favorites for the year so far:
Outrun the Moon, The Bookshop on the Corner, The Melody of You and Me, and Stalking Jack the Ripper.
Proooobaby A Court of Mist and Fury. It was just so good.
ReplyDeleteThe best book that I've read this past year was Just Above My Head by James Baldwin. The writing was phenomenal plus it was speaking to some of the situations I was experiencing.
