I know it's been a while since I've posted, and I'm sorry. But I have a few goodies up my sleeve, which may make it worth it!
Life has been really hectic with work so I haven't gotten to read much. But the past two days, I've read a ton for some reason. It's like the reader's block has gone away. So you guys should be getting some reviews on my blog sometime soon :-)
And now, for the goodies!
This is my giveaway shelf. Not the greatest picture, but you get a sense for what's on there.
I will be giving away up to TWO boxes of YA books (US only), ONE PER WINNER. I will shove as many books that will fit into the box.
US winners will be able to request ONE book to be in their box. The rest is up to me. There can be one INT winner, who will win a $10 Amazon GC.
I love you guys, and it's been a while, so that's why I'm doing this.
The only thing I ask is: if you 1) already read the book and don't want it or 2) read it and don't want to keep it, PLEASE PLEASE pass it along to someone else who can read it who you think might love it. Pass the love!
All right. This giveaway will end in a little less than a week. Go for it!
I would have to say my fav book this year would be Faking Normal by Courtney Stevens. It's deep, emotional, has a great message, and made me freaking bawl my eyes out. SO good. <3
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I miss you Christina!! <3
I would say that I really don't have a favorite book because there is so many great books out there!
DeleteI don't really have a favorite book, because I think that there are so many great books in this world, but Fake Normal is a great book.
DeleteI think my favorite 2014 read has been Uninvited. I was really surprised by how unique the story was, and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. SO excited about the upcoming sequel!
ReplyDeleteYes! Uninvited really surprised me, I read it late last year. I wasn't expecting it to be so well written and different.
DeleteMy favorite book would be the The Survivors, by Amanda Havard. The characters were amazing, and by the end all I wanted to do was get the next book. *Which I had to.
ReplyDeleteSo many! How do I choose. For 2013 it was Extracted by Sherry Ficklin and Tyler Hall Jolley. Also I love Dan Krokos' False Memory series.
ReplyDeleteI have recently read C.C. Hunter's Shadow Falls series and LOVED it!! Thanks for the giveaway!! I really hope I win!!
ReplyDeleteI recently read C.C. Hunter's Shadow Falls series and Colleen Houck's Tiger's Curse series and LOVED them both!! Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite will be The Maze Runner! It's fresh and it filled me with suspense that I couldn't put it down. :LD
ReplyDeleteMy favorite would be The Maze Runner :) The characters are real to me and it's filled with suspense that I couldn't put the book down x
ReplyDeleteJust One Year by Gayle Forman is one of my favorite books in the past year. :) Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would have to say that the book I've loved reading the most this year was Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green. I love the way it's written, although it took a bit of time to get used to, and although I love his other stuff, this is a lot different in a way.
ReplyDeleteAncient Guardians The Uninvited....It's the second book in the series and so far I'm in love...I was totally ticked off through out this book with the main female Reese but in the end I was even more tick that the book ended with so many un-answered questions...leaning into a third book that I'm dying to read and the romance between Levi and Reese is just awesome. I really can't wait until Harrison gets a girl.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite 2014 read is Cruel Beauty . I love the Disney version of Beauty and the beast and this was such an amazing retelling.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. It just stuck with me for a while after I read it.
ReplyDeleteThis past year.. probably Lover Mine by JR Ward. I hadn't read it when it came out and I'm rereading the series now.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book I've read in the past year would have to be Divergent by Veronica Roth. I put off reading this book for so long that by the time I read it I was so mad at myself for not reading it sooner! I'm not a big dystopian reader but this is by far one of the best I've ever read.
ReplyDelete+JMJ+
ReplyDeleteMy favourite book of 2013 was Jesus of Nazareth: Holy Week by Pope Benedict XVI. =) Thanks for the giveaway!
Throne of glass was my favorite read this year.It had so much action and great moments.i'm quite obessed with the series.
ReplyDeleteI would say Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare... Love the humour. :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite that I've read so far this year is The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski. I've recently gotten into reading a lot of YA Historical books and have come to enjoy them but this one stuck with me. It so beyond great, and what's there not to love about a strong heroine? Awesome book!
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed several really good books so far. If I have to pick one it would be Taste by Kate Evangelista. It goes beyond the normal supernatural characters most stories have in them. The characters are great, relatable, and it is easy to follow. Simply love it!
ReplyDeleteI don't have favorites because they're all so good! (unless I say The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead). But a memorable book that I read later in the year was 3:59 and I thought it was a great story! Loved it in fact :D
ReplyDeleteThe Dream Thieves because it's by Maggie Stievfater!
ReplyDeleteCRUEL BEAUTY!
ReplyDeleteJust a few off the top of my head (it's so hard to pick favorites). The Diviners by Libba Bray. Her writing is always fantastic and I love the historic writing. These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagen Spooner. It wasn't anything I expected and absolutely amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book so far this year is Lady Thief by A. C. Gaughen because it's Robin Hood. I love Robin Hood re-tellings.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the contest :D
Man I'm so excited for this.. haha. I would choose... The Invention of Hugo Cabret
ReplyDeleteby Brian Selznick. I LOVE love LOVE that book.
Hmmm my favorite has to be... Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. I've always had that book on my bookshelf but kind of kept off on reading it until I got on a 16 hour flight ><
ReplyDeleteThe best book that I've read in the past year is the Shadow Falls series. I felt that C.C Hunter did a great job of describing each character and creating a personal bond between the reader and the characters. I can't wait for the Shadow Falls: After Dark series comes out in May!
ReplyDeleteOh I read that late last year and honestly wasn't expecting much but it was really good! Definitely a pleasant surprise and I also can't wait for the sequel. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so difficult to pick a favorite cos I fall on love with almost every book I pick up BUT I can honestly say the Mara Dyer series has become a new favorite. Not only is the book totally unique in execution but I relate to Mara in ways I wish I didn't. I won't get into her characteristics I twists to for the sake of spoiling but if you've read the book you'll understand. I witnessed my fiance get murder, he was beaten to death in grunt of me by three muggers with baseball bats after he put himself between the muggers and me to protect me. Needless to say this left me with PTSD and survivors guilt and a dozen other ugly words. Mara suffers from the same and worse and even when the world's against her and no one trusts or believes in her she NEVER gave up. I went through a real rough patch after the murder and fell into a brutal addiction and know how it feels to be totally alone. I relate to Mara and her struggle and I believe in her.
ReplyDeleteAnd, personal issues aside, the series is just SO good!!!
Thanks for the giveaway!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favourite book of the year...that's a tough question as there have been so many great books.
I would have to say "Alice in Zombieland" was a great read by Gena Showalter. This series is fab.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite read over the last 12 months would be The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. I thought the whole trilogy was brilliant. The concept was original, the writing was beautiful and the story was deeply thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway :)
My favorite YA books that I've read so far this year are And We Stay by Jenny Hubbard & Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. And We Stay is a favorite because it was written in a unique style and reminded me in ways of my high school days. Catching Fire is just a real page turner. The Hunger Games was my first dip into the dystopia pool & I really like the series.
ReplyDeleteSo far....I really enjoyed True Colors by Melissa Pearl. I felt that it touched a lot of issues that many teens face every day in high school...that's why people wear "masks" every day. And, to be able to see beyond that is so raw and powerful that it can be insightful and emotional. It has got to make you think about what are your friends and classmates and everyday people are hiding behind all those smiles that they show to everyone.
ReplyDeleteMy two favorite YA books that I've read this year were And We Stay by Jenny Hubbard and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. And We Stay was a favorite because it was written in a unique way - through third person and poetry - and reminded me a little of myself in high school days gone past. Catching Fire was just a real page turner. The Hunger Games was my first dip into the dystopia pool and I've really enjoyed the two books I've read in the series.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVED Unhinged by A.G. Howard. It's everything I was hoping for in the sequel (weell, I wasn't hoping for such a cliff hanger ending, but whatever). XD Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI remember back when you were Ensconced in YA! It's been a while :D I read the Legend series, and it was beautiful and amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book that I've read this year is When I Was the Greatest by Jason Reynolds. It's one of the first YA books that I've read where I completely connect with the character and have shared some of the same experiences.
ReplyDeleteThe Prophecy (The Fulfillment Series #1) by Erin Albert. Great story and I loved the characters.
ReplyDeleteWith All my Soul by Rachel Vincent! Love the series, it's so unique!
ReplyDeleteWith All My Soul by Rachel Vincent! I love the series, it's so unique!

ReplyDeletekmichellec87(at)yahoo(dot)com

ReplyDeleteFateful by Claudia Gray has to be one of my favorite books that I've read last year! Thank you for this giveaway!
ReplyDelete-Cindy :)
Oh, I forgot to answer the why part. The reason why Fateful by Claudia Gray was one of my favorite books that I've read last year was because of the whole Titanic theme and the plot! I really like that I could read the story of the Titanic in another perspective.
ReplyDelete-Cindy :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for this!
Just this week, I read two very wonderful MG books: A Snicker of Magic and The Junction of Sunshine and Lucky. These two books are destined to become classics. The writing is so very beautiful in both; I was held spellbound throughout and was so very disappointed at the end of the books, I was actually depressed. It's rare to find such gems of writing excellence. I can't believe I read TWO back-to-back.
ReplyDeleteDef Cress! I had an ARC! :D

I have to say that the best book I've read so far this year is How To Love by Katie Cotugno, it was soooooo good and I loved that it alternated between the past and present so we really got a sense of why their relationship ended and how they can fix it. Thank you!
