Goodreads Book Description: Cheerleader Rose Whitfield's senior year goes up in smoke when she's framed for arson. Sure that the culprit is her neighbor Paxton, with whom she's been feuding since middle school, she sets out to clear her name and take Paxton down hard--not necessarily in that order.
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Welcome back, everyone! We are definitely lucky today, to get to meet, Rose, the star of TORCHED by Andrea Colt.
Tell us a little about your family and where you grew up.
Hi! I've always been a California girl. My parents and I
spend most of our holidays with the Callaways, our next-door neighbors since
forever. My dad and Mr. Callway were college buds! The Callaways are
wonderful--with the exception of Paxton, of course.
My mom isn't the deepest of people, but she knows how to
light up a room, and she always makes being with her feel like a party. My dad
is a hard worker--someone's got to keep my mom in designer dresses--but
sometimes I wish they'd spend more time at home and less time off in Aspen or
Miami or wherever. Would it kill them to come see one of the games I cheer at?
That must be tough. Glad you have some friendly neighbors though! So tell us a bit about your high school. What do you love about high school? What do you hate
about it?
I love being around all my friends-without them, life
would pretty much suck. I hate the early mornings (doesn't everyone?) and being
trapped inside on sunny California days.
Speaking of everyone, tell us about your best friend, Alina. What is your
favorite memory with her?
Alina doesn't let most people past her outer shell of
perfection. Most people don't know about her problems with her parents, but
we've always been there for each other.
My favorite memory is definitely our first road trip!
Alina's dad had just given her a crazy-expensive car, and we decided we weren't
going home until we visited every bakery within a hundred miles. We didn't get
home until the next day, and there were crumbs all over the leather seats, but
Alina didn't care.
We've heard a lot about the famous pranks you pull. What is the worst/best (depending on how you look at
it) prank you've ever pulled on Paxton?
lol … probably when I poured several pounds of dry rice
into the vents of Paxton's locker. When he opened the door … I still remember
the look on his face as rice flooded out! ;-)
Favorite food? Candy? TV show? Perfume?
Favorite food would have to be macaroni and cheese
paired with chicken fingers. Read Torched to find out why ;)
Candy: yes please! TV: anything with hot guys, bonus
points if they make me laugh. And though sometimes I'll borrow a spritz of one
of Alina's citrusy scents, usually I don't bother with anything but
floral-scented shampoo.
What is your favorite thing about cheerleading?
How awesome I am at it! Ha ha, but I guess what I mean
is the confidence it gives me. And how amazing it is when so many different
girls cheer in a coordinated routine, creating something together that is
bigger than themselves--it's like magic :)
If you could pick your biggest virtual crush (TV,
book OR movie), who would it be and why?
James Bond, the Daniel Craig version. Dude knows how to
get things done! Plus, he knows a thing or two about having a target on his
back--but he never gives up, and always winds up kicking ass (and looking sexy
doing it!)
Give us three words to describe, Ryan, your hunk of a
boyfriend.
Sweet, athletic, and gorgeous. Just like me! Right? *crickets*
Right??
How about three words to describe Paxton?
Smart, infuriating, and (oh God don't tell him I said
this) hot.
Thanks so much for joining us today, Rose! Hope to catch
up with you some other time!
As long as it's not in a jail cell, I'm totally game :)
