Feature and Follow (18)

I'm on a much needed vacation.

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read

Here are the rules to the blog hop!
To join the fun and make new book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

  • (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
  • (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
  • Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
  • Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
  • If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
  • Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
  • If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love…and the followers
  • If you’re new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Q: What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can’t deal with bad editing?

1. Bad science

2. Bad editing

3. No world building

4. Two dimensional characters

5. Dragging plot

Basically... the book needs to be good! :-)

  1. Haha! Nice! I can agree with your list as well. But the items have to be really really bad in order for me to regret reading the book or stop reading it entirely.

    Here's my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  3. Hahaha! I agree with all your points, but it's mainly bad editing and dragging plots that irritate me the most. :P

I really like your blog name, by the wy. :D

    New follower here!

It would be great if you could stop by my Feature and Follow Friday post.

  4. Ooooh bad science gets me too! If it's something I understand and can make heads and tails of and it's messed up, I won't like that!

  5. My pet peeves are lazy prose and books that drag. Authors must make every chapter count.

I'm not surprised to see that bad science tops your list, though!

  6. I agree with Bad Science! I wouldn't have thought of it though. Bad law also makes me mad as I did some law courses!

  10. I agree with all of your points, but I think the worst ones for me are that I'm not a fan of dragging plots OR ones that are so fast-paced you can't connect with the characters or have much world-building.

  11. I agree with ALL your points, great list! I mentioned pacing & editing in my FFF as well this week, but I wish I'd thought to include lack of world-building and lack of character development. Bad science can really hinder my overall enjoyment as well. Thanks for sharing :)
