  • Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
  • If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
  • Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”

  • If you’re new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Q: When you step out of your USUAL genre what do you like to read? Best books in that genre?

If I Lie I don't typically read contemporary (I'm usually paranormal/dystopian/sci fi), but I just recently read one of the best contemporary YA novels ever, called If I Lie by Corrine Jackson. Just wanted to put a plug in for her awesome giveaway going on right now, a signed copy of this book!

Goodreads Book Description: A powerful debut novel about the gray space between truth and perception.

Quinn’s done the unthinkable: she kissed a guy who is not Carey, her boyfriend. And she got caught. Being branded a cheater would be bad enough, but Quinn is deemed a traitor, and shunned by all of her friends. Because Carey’s not just any guy—he’s serving in Afghanistan and revered by everyone in their small, military town.

Quinn could clear her name, but that would mean revealing secrets that she’s vowed to keep—secrets that aren’t hers to share. And when Carey goes MIA, Quinn must decide how far she’ll go to protect her boyfriend…and her promise.

  1. New follower :) I'm not big on contemp YA either. Reality and I don't get along too well, so I prefer to read things with a strong fantasy or sci-fi theme. :)

  2. Nice! Seeing a few people reading select contemps. I can't handle them myself anymore, I used to read them when I couldn't find a paranormal read--those were scary teen years! Now that paranormals are so vast and plentiful it's all I read!

I read books with paranormal elements like steampunks, mysteries and dystopains! And I like "magical" books too, which in its own way can be paranormal-ish!

    Here's my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  3. I really enjoy YA Contemps, not so much adult. I keep seeing this one around, but I tend to not enjoy things that involve the military. I may check it out one day though, since it seems to be getting a lot of praise.

  4. I really like my supernatural/ speculative fiction books, so for me, reading outside my comfort zone means literary, contemporary fiction & historical romance.
