Feature and Follow Friday (2)

Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read

Here are the rules to the blog hop!
To join the fun and make new book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
    • (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
    • (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
    • Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
    • Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
    • If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
    • Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
    • If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love…and the followers
    • If you’re new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Q: What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

This is a question I love to answer because my story is a little unusual. At first, when I started doing reviews last December for Amazon, I was all about the free books because I was spending way too much on my Kindle and needed a free hobby. Then I really started getting into meeting new authors and supporting their novels. I ended up keeping in touch with a number of them through email or Goodreads and realized that I could generate more interest for these authors through a blog (plus, several of them mentioned that I should go ahead and start one since I had a ton of material already). It's been such a great adventure, and I'm thrilled that after a month, my little blog has so much traffic! Have a great Friday!

  10. I like the fact you were already into reviewing before you started blogging. When I started I had only written probably two reviews for school or something lol I'm glad you started blogging though - I love reading everyone's reviews - especially for books I've already read, I like seeing what others think! Thanks for commenting on the blog! I'm a new follower!

  14. Thanks for stopping by - new GFC follower.

My thoughts exactly. The free books were the immediate and initial appeal, but interacting with the authors is what keeps me going.

  17. That's awesome! I've stumbled onto countless of new authors because of other bloggers! Even just the online community in general too! I use to hang out on forums a lot of some authors, but have fallen short in the past few years. I remember at the time when Rachel Vincent had the Pride up and running, friends told me I had to give Richelle Mead's books a shot and I ended up loving them!

  19. I think that most blogs start with GR or Amazon. However, Amazon and I don't always get along. I hate that you have to not put spoilers or no pics. Sigh. That is why I love GR so much more.

    Followed ya back! :o)

Thanks for stopping by my page.
